This review is for the FandyFire U8 Rechargeable Flashlight as part of my search for a lightweight, versatile, and highly functional flashlight. The flashlight weighs 68 grams and measures 4 ¾” x 1 ⅛” x ⅜”. The exterior of the flashlight is metal with a black matte finish with a row of main LED lights on one end, a ring of LED lights and push button controls on the top, a USB-C charging port on one side, and a 2 ½” metal tension clip on the bottom. A 20 ¼” long USB-A to USB-C cable is included with the flashlight and can be used to charge the flashlight. During charging the push button controls will slowly flash with a red light until fully charged as indicated by a solid blue light. The flashlight is operated through a combination of single-click, double-click, triple-click, and press plus hold actions with the main front lights offering four brightness modes (low, medium, high, turbo) and two blinking modes (strobe, SOS). The top side lights offer a combination of brightness, color, and lighting action modes including constant, breathing, dropflow, and rainbow. Overall quality and workmanship are good with solid construction, very good brightness, smooth operation, and no scratches on the exterior casing.I was quite impressed with the overall brightness and operation time of the front lights and had no issues when primarily using the flashlight at high intensity. I like that the flashlight remembers the brightness level it was last used at and had no issues when cycling through the various light modes and brightness levels. The lights are quite bright even at the lowest setting so I would recommend avoiding looking directly at them. Note also that running the main lights in turbo intensity generates quite a lot of heat. The clip is quite strong and was actually quite useful, although I found it more useful to clip the light onto the front of my shirt and use the side light instead of clipping the light onto a cap. The magnetized end is also quite strong, but I did come across situations where the flashlight in a horizontal position was a little top-heavy for the lower level of magnetic strength and needed to rotate the flashlight so that the main lights and case were vertical. All in all, this is a great quality LED flashlight that is lightweight with excellent brightness. I recommend this as a good option for a bright and versatile flashlight with useful side lighting modes.
